Lightweight trackers have been successfully applied in European project

 In November 2020, senior researcher Professor José A. Alves and his team from the University of Aveiro, Portugal, successfully equiped seven lightweight GPS/GSM trackers (HQBG0804, 4.5 g, manufacturer: Hunan Global Trust Technology Co., Ltd.) on black-tailed godwits, bar-tailed godwit and grey plovers at the the Tagus estuary in Portugal.

Professor Alves’s current project is to assess the potential impact of the construction of an airport in the Tagus estuary, based on the pattern of the habitat ues of the wintering waders in this area. Untill January 2021, all devices are working stably with 4-6 locations collectd per day.
